What I do

Four ways I get brought in

No packages, no upselling. We work out what you actually need, then I build it.

01

Laravel web applications

Booking systems, customer portals, dashboards and internal tools. Built on Laravel with tests, queues and a deploy process you can trust.

Most of my work

02

Websites for small businesses

Fast, accessible sites that read well on a phone and get found on Google. A sensible CMS so you can edit your own words.

Design and build

03

MVPs for startups

Get the idea in front of real users without burning the runway. Scope down hard, ship, then iterate on what you learn.

Weeks, not quarters

04

Rescue and improvement work

Inherited an app nobody will touch? Slow queries, failing builds, legacy PHP. I audit it, stabilise it, then modernise it.

Audit first

The specialism

Laravel, properly

Most of my work is Laravel: booking systems, customer portals, admin dashboards, APIs and the awkward internal tools nobody else wants to touch. Tested, documented, and handed over so another developer could pick it up tomorrow.

Laravel development in detail

Version upgrades and legacy rescue

Old Laravel or raw PHP brought up to a supported version, with a test suite so the next upgrade is boring.

Filament and Livewire admin panels

Internal tooling your team will actually use, built fast on top of your existing models.

React front ends and NativePHP apps

React where an interface needs to feel like an app. NativePHP when the same Laravel codebase needs to run on desktop or mobile.

APIs and integrations

Payments, accounting, CRMs and third-party feeds, with retries and logging so failures surface early.

Performance and queues

Query profiling, caching, background jobs and Horizon monitoring. Pages that stay fast as data grows.

Agency white-label contracting

I slot into your team as the Laravel specialist, work to your standards, and stay off the client call if you prefer.

How I work

Four steps, no surprises

  1. A proper conversation

Twenty minutes on the phone. What the problem is, who it affects, what success looks like. No pitch deck.

  2. A written plan and a price

Scope, milestones and a fixed price or a clear day rate. You know what you are getting before anything starts.

  3. Build in the open

Weekly demos on a staging URL. You see progress and can change your mind while it is still cheap to do so.

  4. Launch and stay supported

Deployment, monitoring, handover docs. Then ongoing support if you want it, and no lock-in if you do not.

Who I work with

If one of these is you, we'll get on

Local small businesses

You need a site that brings in enquiries and a person who answers the phone.

Startups needing an MVP

You have a clear idea and a deadline. I help you cut it to what matters and ship it.

Agencies needing Laravel

Overflow work or a specialist for a build. Reliable estimates, clean handover.

Broken or legacy apps

Something critical is held together with tape. I stabilise it before it takes the business down.

Non-technical founders

You want the trade-offs explained in English so you can make the call yourself.

Jason just gets it. No technical waffle, no over-promising. He listened to what we needed, suggested a simpler approach that saved us money, and delivered exactly what he said he would. Refreshing to work with someone so straightforward.

that needs building?

Send over a couple of lines about the project. You'll get a straight answer on whether I'm the right fit, usually the same day.
